Grady Featured on ‘Your Fantastic Mind’

Two Grady programs were recently featured on an episode of PBS’s Your Fantastic Mind titled “Hope and Healing.”

The episode featured Grady’s Center for Diversion and Services’ innovative approach to addressing mental health and substance use issues by offering alternatives to incarceration. The Center is a collaborative effort between Grady, the city of Atlanta, Fulton County and organizations like the Policing Alternatives & Diversion Initiative (PAD). This partnership aims to reduce arrests and jail time by addressing the root causes of behavioral health issues, offering individuals the tools and support needed for positive change.

It also showcased Grady and Emory School of Medicine’s groundbreaking ENRICH (Early Minimally Invasive Removal of Intracerebral hemorrhage) trial, conducted from 2017 to 2023 across 37 U.S. hospitals. The study investigated the efficacy of minimally invasive parafascicular surgery (MIPS) for treating intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), the deadliest form of stroke. The results showed that MIPS is both safe and superior to standard medical management, marking a significant advancement in stroke treatment.
