Kudos to Tim Jefferson for Lifetime Achievement award

Grady’s long-time chief legal officer and general counsel has been named the Lifetime Achievement winner for the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 2025 Corporate Counsel Awards program.

Timothy Jefferson played a key role in saving Grady in the early 2000s, guiding it from a public hospital authority to a private nonprofit. This effort brought together politicians, business leaders and the philanthropic community to not only keep Grady’s doors open, but to turn it into the thriving health system it is today.

“Tim says he got into the legal profession because it offered him the chance to take on social justice issues and have a positive impact on society," John Haupert, president and CEO of Grady, said in a statement to Atlanta Business Chronicle. "He does that every day at Grady, making sure that the health system is an open and welcoming environment for our patients, our employees and all those who encounter us."
