Renovated Walter L. Ingram Burn Center opens thanks to generous donors
Thanks to the generosity of donors to the Power of Grady campaign, Grady has completed the renovation of the Walter L. Ingram Burn Center, increasing patient capacity and expanding its life-saving services.
The renovation includes additional private room for acute and step-down care, two surgical procedure rooms, and the renovation of existing patient rooms and treatment areas. The project was made possible through donations to the Power of Grady campaign, which raised $114 million to address vital patient and operational needs.
On February 11, Grady’s chaplains and local religious leaders blessed the new space and thanked those who provide care, manage the burn unit’s operations and invest in Grady’s growth and success. The team also hosted tours of the space, welcoming staff, donors and former patients.
The Burn Center is a unique and invaluable resource for both adult and pediatric burn care and is the primary burn treatment center in the metro Atlanta area. It will officially open later this month.
