Dobbs Foundation helps students explore health care careers
Thanks to a gift from the R. Howard Dobbs, Jr. Foundation, Grady’s Teen Leadership and Experience Program (TELP) is giving metro Atlanta high school students the opportunity to step into scrubs, shadow health care professionals and lead projects that make a real difference.
As the program enters its fifth year, a generous $50,000 grant from the Dobbs Foundation enabled TELP to welcome the next generation of hardworking, compassionate professionals to support the health of our entire community.
TELP students, age 14-19, participate in an eight-week, hands-on program in both clinical and non-clinical roles within Grady. Each student can immerse themselves in interactive learning, workshops and mentorships to experience what a career in health care entails.
Learning everything from CPR to suturing, workshops on robotics in medicine, and professional career advisement, TELP participants gain:
· Real-world experience in health care settings
· Leadership skills they can use for life
· Opportunities to discover new career paths
· Connections with mentors and peers who share their interests
Applications for TELP 2026 will open in January. Check out the website for more information.
