Helping Patients Heal

Grady recently celebrated the opening of its new Wound and Hyperbaric Center in the Correll Pavilion. The center provides specialized treatment for people suffering from chronic or non-healing wounds, which can cause severe health risks and create undue suffering.

The Wound Center has introduced new hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) to enhance the spectrum of wound care services for Grady patients and better address the growing demands of patients with chronic wounds and burns. According to Dr. Manuel Garcia-Toca, medical director, the center is designed to complement the existing portfolio of wound services at Grady and focus primarily on HBOT, limb salvage and lower-extremity chronic wound patients.

The Center will be operated in partnership with Healogics, the nation’s leading provider of advanced wound care and hyperbaric therapy. Healogics will bring operational excellence while Grady clinicians provide clinical decision-making and oversight.

According to Dr. Garcia-Toca, our growing and aging population base will create an outsized demand for wound care services. The new Wound Center will deliver the focus, expertise and capacity to address this demand effectively.
