Mobile Integrated health

The Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) program focuses on coordinating and facilitating efficient, targeted management of outpatient problems that would otherwise burden the emergency department, decreasing hospital admissions and improving quality of care.

Shara Mayberry, Director of Grady’s Mobile Integrated Health, views the program and her team as the “Arms of Grady.” Patients of the program tend to be high utilizers of emergency services, often due to a “lack of resources” says Molly Reynolds, an Advanced EMT.  Her mobile team is dispatched to provide in-home medical care, which is much less stressful for patients and reduces the need for costly ambulance transport. Without the mobile support provided by this team, patients with limited mobility and transportation would be left alone, failing to properly monitor their health conditions, and most certainly in need of a re-hospitalization.
